Engagement Photos Near Glen Manor House in Portsmouth, Rhode Island
When Josh and Amanda told me about their plans for a simple, rustic wedding, I knew that Glen Farm, (near the popular Glen Manor House in Portsmouth, Rhode Island), would be the perfect fit for their engagement photos!
If you’ve never been there before, the Stables is a beautiful, historic farm. Built in the 1880’s, Glen Farm Stables was a part of the 1,500 acre country estate of Henry A. Taylor. This estate also included the Glen Manor House in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, today a museum and an elegant wedding venue. With its winding paths and huge stone barns overgrown with ivy, I knew that the Stables would grace their portraits with rustic charm.
After we arrived, we laughed, joked, and danced our way around the farm, hunting for the best spot for their engagement photos. We found a quiet spot in the back pasture where the light was perfect. To top it off, the wildflowers were in full bloom! After catching some sweet moments, we explored the barns and visited the horses who had turned in for the night. After we said our goodbyes, Amanda and Josh took up my suggestion to get some good food down in Newport! The perfect end to a beautiful evening.
The couple first met while working together at Starbucks several years ago. Amanda first caught Josh’s attention with her smile and “attitude” (as he called it). Amanda loved how Josh could always make her laugh! After several years of dating (and several weeks of carrying the ring around in his pocket), Josh finally popped the question at Goddard State Park. And Amanda said yes! They will celebrate their wedding in September 2021 and I couldn’t be more honored or thrilled to be their wedding photographer.
