Portsmouth Family Photographer | The Pasnau’s

This Portsmouth family photography session by the sea was the perfect kick-off for summer! I love taking family photographs down at Pheasant Hill Beach in Portsmouth. There’s plenty of open shoreline for walking and fishing, rocks for climbing and tossing, beautiful beachy greenery and a gorgeous view of the Mount Hope Bridge. This beach never disappoints for fabulous family photos.

The Pasnau family was equally fabulous, for two reasons. First, because they just know how to have fun! These family photos were a blast. And second, they drove a solid 40 minutes to get to Pheasant Hill beach for their family portraits! That’s dedication. Especially if you’re an Aquidneck Islander like me. You know that’s a long drive and that they definitely should have packed a lunch…or two.

In fact, it was such a long ride that all three kids fell asleep on the way there! But, the drive was completely worth it. We couldn’t have asked for better weather and the beach roses were in full bloom. Between the water, the Mount Hope Bridge, and the beach roses, it was the perfect summer backdrop for a Portsmouth family photography session! After a few rounds of snuggles and gummy worms, the kids revived and were ready for action.

We enjoyed a leisurely walk to the beach down a beautiful sandy path surrounded by green beach roses, marshes and sea grass. After a few family photos in front of the Mount Hope Bridge, we captured some candids and couple shots as the kids played in the water and explored the shoreline. Towards the end of our time together, the kids pulled out a kite and enjoyed the breezy shore air. It was the perfect start to summer in Portsmouth!

  1. OH MY GOSH I LOVE THESE PICS!!!! I mean I’m highly (and obviously) biased, but it’s great how you captured some candid moments during a planned photo shoot. The smiles on our kid’s faces are 100% genuine, and I love that.
