The Chanler Newport Rhode Island Proposal | Cam + Regina

Cam’s proposal to Regina at The Chanler Newport Rhode Island was such a joy to be a part of! In case you aren’t familiar with this historic venue, The Chanler is a Gilded Age mansion transformed into a luxury hotel and restaurant. It is located adjacent to the iconic Cliff Walk by Easton’s Beach. As you can imagine, it is a lovely place for a romantic Newport proposal!

The garden at the Chanler was in full bloom on the day of Cam’s proposal to Regina. This made it the perfect backdrop for their special moment. Regina was completely surprised and excited when Cam got down on one knee in the center of the garden and asked her to be his wife!

After the proposal, we took some portraits in the lush garden and along the part of the property overlooking the beach and the Cliff Walk. While we were taking portraits, one of the staff surprised the happy couple with glasses of champagne. It was a special way to conclude our portrait time!

Tips For Proposing at The Chanler

The Chanler is a beautiful place for a Newport, Rhode Island proposal. However, it’s important to note that The Chanler is a private property that hosts events and weddings! Having photographed here, I know that planning the proposal requires permission from the events/marketing coordinator and a reservation. This means that if you would like to propose here and have a proposal photographer capture the moment, you will need to plan in advance! That being said, the property is gorgeous and it is totally worth the extra logistcal work!
