Jesse’s Cliff Walk proposal in Newport at Ledge Road was surprising in more than one way! After convincing Kyra to check out Cliff Walk at Ledge Road because “it was a good place to fish,” he knelt down on one knee and asked her to be his wife! She thought that was the only surprise, but then she turned around saw me, her Newport proposal photographer. We had the proposal on camera!

But that wasn’t the best surprise. To her complete amazement and joy, Jesse had arranged for Kyra’s dad to bring her beloved dog to join in on the celebration! Her dad drove up all the way from Jersey just to make this moment extra special. It certainly was heartwarming to see Kyra’s reaction to her dog’s arrival and Jesse’s happiness as he looked on at her joy and astonishment. She could hardly believe her eyes!

Tips for a Cliff Walk Proposal

Planning a Cliff Walk proposal is something that I love to help my clients do. When considering Cliff Walk as a potential place to propose in Newport, it’s important to consider a few things.

Depending on the season and the specific location along the Newport Cliff Walk, Cliff Walk can be very busy. Most gentlemen I work with want a more secluded location for their proposal. Unless it is winter, I find the Cliff Walk, especially the Forty Steps area, to be quite crowded with college students and tourists. This makes it difficult to pull off a proposal without people cheering for you as they walk by!

Ledge Road tends to be a quieter location on the Cliff Walk for a proposal. Lots of people like it for it’s stunning views of the Ocean and impressive granite rocks. However, parking from May to October is limited severely, meaning that a longer walk to the location is required. If you are planning on hiring a proposal photographer, you may want to choose a different location with a shorter walk. Why? I find that longer walks tend to leave couples feeling sweaty with windswept hair. I find that oftentimes the ladies are a little more hesitant about photos when they have concerns about sweat or their hair!
