Newport RI Surprise Proposal | David + Shira
David and Shira’s love story began several years before David’s Newport, RI surprise proposal. After meeting online in the midst of the COVID lockdowns of 2020, the couple built a firm foundation for their relationship through their meaningful video conversations (which David says he always looked forward to) and by playing Codenames together. Over the last several years, Shira became David’s “rock.”
When I asked David what he loved most about Shira, he had a lot of lovely things to say. He described her as “family-oriented, relaxed, easy-going, patient, honest, and reliable” and “one of the most empathetic people I know.” He related “she always makes me feel supported and loved.” Sounds to me like the perfect qualities for a happy marriage!
With a lovely lady like this, planning the perfect surprise proposal was naturally very important to David. After considering several locations in Newport, David settled on the Castle Hill Lighthouse at sunset. We had concerns about the weather, so David booked two reservations at the Castle Hill Inn on different days just to make sure we got the perfect weather. And we totally did!
