Newport Surprise Engagement | Ryan + Victoria

After meeting online during the COVID lockdowns, it didn’t take Ryan long to know that Victoria was the one for him! He loved her bubbly, energetic, and optimistic personality. So it was only natural for Ryan to ask Victoria to marry him! So he began planning a Newport surprise engagement at Castle Hill.

Since he knew how much Victoria loved pictures, Ryan knew that documenting their surprise engagement would be important to her. He also wanted to remember that shocked and surprised look on her face when he produced a ring and dropped to one knee! So that’s where I came into the picture as his Newport proposal photographer!

As the big day drew nearer we worked out all the final details for Ryan’s Castle Hill proposal. On the day of the proposal, I got there early to scope things out and set up a ring of faux flowers which was our signal for where he should stand! We had to adjust the location a little bit because there were people hanging out on the rocks but the proposal went perfectly and she said yes!

Victoria definitely loved taking pictures so we took a bunch of portraits afterwards on the rocks. She was a champ because she did all of the “mountain climbing” in heels! I was very impressed.
