Proposal at Easton’s Beach | Connor + Dana

I’m not sure why it’s taken me this long to photograph a proposal at Easton’s Beach! It’s really a lovely spot! There’s three main beaches in the Newport area, Easton’s (First), Sachuest (Second) and Third Beach. Each beach has it’s own unique personality and charm. Easton’s Beach is the closest major beach to downtown Newport. As a result, there are more houses and businesses in the background, as well as a view of the Chanler and Cliff Walk. It has a white sandy beach that is well maintained and walkable.

Connor planned his proposal at Easton’s Beach using their dog as an excuse! He told Dana that the sandy stretch would be the perfect place to tire their dog out before they enjoyed their night out on the town. Much to her surprise and delight, the walk was cut short by his proposal to her on the beach! She was completely surprised and overjoyed – it was definitely a yes!

Tips for a Proposal at Easton’s Beach

If you plan to propose at Easton’s Beach, the best light for photographs is about an hour before sunset or right after dawn. If you propose at other times of day, the sunlight light will create harsh shadows on the face and body. This is not an issue of course if you don’t plan to photograph your proposal, but if you do, plan for the best “golden hour” light about an hour before sunset.
