Second Beach Proposal Near Newport | Dustin + Jennie

One thing about being a proposal photographer in Newport is getting to meet awesome couples like Dustin and Jennie! A few weeks before his Second Beach proposal, Dustin called me to talk about photographing the moment he proposed. He knew that it would a lot to his girlfriend Jennie to have the proposal photographed, because she loves capturing moments and pictures – especially right before sunset!

Finding an awesome view of the sunset was a top priority for Dustin and we scouted out a few locations, including Cliff Walk and Brenton Point. But, at the last minute, he decided to go with Sachuest Beach, (Second Beach as the locals call it), and it was definitely the right choice!

We staged the proposal at the top of the large rock at Surfer’s End of Second Beach because it has an awesome view. While the couple finished up a delicious dessert at the Cara Restaurant in Newport, I got to Surfer’s End early to “take pictures of the sunset.” This way, when Dustin and Jennie arrived, I wouldn’t look too suspicious and we’d be ready to roll!

Dustin asked Jennie to be his wife on the rock at Surfer’s End…and she said yes! Working in the jewelry industry, Jennie had a keen eye for beautiful engagement rings. And she was absolutely blown away by the one Dustin chose! He even picked out a handmade ring box that she completely loved. Seeing their happiness in that moment and for each other was priceless.
