The tiny toes, the chubby thighs, and – oh my goodness – that precious little face! I’ve got two little ones of my own and I promise you, these days really do fly by. As a Rhode Island newborn photographer from Newport, I want to help you remember all the details and capture some precious moments between you and your baby.

I’m a Newport lifestyle newborn photographer, so I specialize in capturing real moments between you and your newborn. I capture those seemingly mundane, but sweet, interactions between you and your newborn – a kiss, a smile, or a snuggle – because I believe these moments and these memories are the ones you are going to cherish. There is much beauty to be found in the everyday moments.
When To Schedule With Your RI Newborn Photographer
When is the best time to take newborn portraits? Most of the time, newborn portraits take place less than two weeks after the baby is born. This is when the baby is typically the sleepiest and most content for photos.
But you don’t have to wait until the baby is born to schedule with a newborn photographer. You can schedule your newborn portrait session any time after 12 weeks gestation. We all know babies rarely arrive on their due dates, (babies come when babies want to!), so we won’t nail down an exact date. But we will ballpark it and be in touch when the baby arrives so we can schedule your newborn photography session.
What to Expect at Your Newborn Photography Session
Newborn photography sessions are set at a slow pace for the comfort of both mother and baby. Recovering from delivery and adjusting to life with a newborn can be tough! Sessions can take place either outdoors, if weather permits, or indoors in the comfort of your own home.
Since I offer lifestyle newborn photography, the focus will be on your interactions with your baby and family. I will help you with posing suggestions and prompts, to produce natural and candid images. But don’t worry, we’ll capture all those important details too, like the tiny toes and little fingers!

After your images are ready for viewing, you’ll receive your online gallery. Then, you’ll have the opportunity download your favorites or turn them into heirloom-quality art that your family will cherish for years to come.
