Castle Hill Surprise Engagement | Owen + Lindsay

It was such a privilege to photograph Owen and Lindsay’s Castle Hill surprise engagement at the Castle Hill Lighthouse this past weekend!

Owen first met Lindsay at the local pool when they were just kids! Though they didn’t start dating until later, the two always had a connection. When I asked Owen what he loved most about Lindsay, he had a lot of lovely things to say about her! He described her as “selfless, strong, independent, and loving with a strong faith.” She is “spontaneous, yet organized and calculated. Knows what she wants!” When I met her at the proposal, I could see their special connection and these traits that Owen loved shining through.

On the week of the proposal, Owen and I watched the weather nervously because April showers were in the forecast for Saturday. The outlook for Saturday never improved, so Owen rearranged his plans on the fly and we planned for the engagement to happen on Friday instead. It turned out to be perfect! Light clouds and no wind made for a beautiful Castle Hill surprise engagement. Owen took a knee in front of the lighthouse and Lindsay said yes! Afterwards, Lindsay braved the rocks (in her heels!) and we took some engagement portraits to commemorate!
