Newborn Family Portraits | Smith Family

As recent transplants to the Newport area and parents of a newborn, the Smith family wanted to be able to look back on this memorable time in their family’s life. It is their first few months in Newport and their first few months as a family of four! As a present to Kelly, Nick wanted to make sure they had some beautiful pictures to remember this special season. So we planned a newborn family portraits at Sachuest Beach in Middletown, RI. It’s a great place to catch the sunset near Newport, and it’s always a fun place for kids.

The Smith family arrived in style with coordinating purple outfits – I loved it! As a Newport, RI family photographer, a lot of my clients channel the beachy Newport vibe and wear shades of blue. So it was fun and refreshing to have a family show up for portraits in purple! I might actually have to start recommending that color palette to my future clients because it looked fabulous with the peach and purple tones of the sunset.

You never know how a newborn family portrait session will go (because that’s just how it is with babies!), but the Smith’s newborn totally rocked her first session. Not many smiles, but she was definitely a happy baby as she cuddled with mom, dad, and sister throughout the session.
