Newport Lighthouse Proposal | Kyle + Beth

Newport is a sort of home-away-from-home for Kyle and Beth, as it is the place where they’ve spent the most time together outside of their home in Indianapolis. Now Newport holds a new place in the hearts of this midwestern couple: it’s the place where they got engaged! After weighing his options, (and Newport certainly has a lot of great proposal locations) Kyle planned a Newport lighthouse proposal off Ocean Drive.

While we were in the planning phase, I asked Kyle what he loved most about Beth. He had so much to say! But the top three qualities he loved about her were her smile, her ambition, and her conviction. He described her as his “best friend and the best partner [he] could ask for” and felt that she makes him “a better person every day.”

On the day of the proposal, Kyle and Beth’s family and friends met at Castle Hill. They didn’t say hello though – they hid in the bushes! Beth didn’t know it yet, but a Newport lighthouse proposal wasn’t the only surprise in her future. Her whole family was there to celebrate too!

Kyle popped the question in front of the lighthouse on Castle Hill. And Beth said yes! Afterwards, the family came out of their hiding places ready with champagne and lots of love and congratulations. It was beautiful to see the two families come together and share in the happiness of the couple.

After a short portrait session for the couple and family, the newly engaged couple and their family enjoyed drinks in the summer sun on the Lawn.
