Rhode Island Surprise Engagement | Sharief + Katherine

Capturing his Rhode Island surprise engagement to Katherine was important to Sharief. He wanted to have photographs to remember his proposal because he felt it was important, saying “it marks the first day of our promise to spend our lives together and to further strengthen our bond together.” I loved the his reasons and couldn’t wait to hear more about Sharief’s proposal plans and to hear a little more about Katherine and how they met!

Sharief and Katherine met in college where they met through friends. I laughed out loud when Sharief told me he “managed not to scare her away!.” After learning about each other’s live and goals through texting, the two hit it off and as Sharief said, “the rest is history!.” When I asked Sharief what he loved most about Katherine, his response overflowed with heartfelt emotion, saying:

“I love how much she supports me with everything I do in life and acts as my rock when I need her most. I love how she is very family oriented always keeping them in mind and maintain the close relationship she has with her siblings and parents. I love how compassionate and selfless she has grown to be always helping those in need.” Katherine sounded like a lovely lady and I was excited to meet her!

As the time for the proposal drew closer, Sharief and I were not having good feelings about the weather! Only a few days before, the forecast was predicting a solid day of rain! We waited hoping for a better prediction and lucked out. A window of clear weather opened up just before sunset and we captured some lovely photos of their surprise engagement at Castle Hill Lighthouse!
